I'm damned~
Bought my air-ticket several months ago, following the schedule given to me..and was euphoric for getting the ZERO fare ticket to go back to my hometown.
Several months later, the Department of Pediatric changed my exam schedule out of a sudden, and I have to suffer because of this.
Now, it's really burning a hole in my wallet. I have to buy another air ticket at sky-high price.
I complained, but they didn't seem to care. Well, who's gonna care after all, I'm no one to them.
This is not the 1st, same thing happened during my 1st year. God bless me.

green movie
Impulsively, went to watch 'the day the earth stood still' after waking up from a nap. Managed to catch a 4.50pm show n enjoyed a student price of rm6 only, cheap enough.
the story was kinda like the second coming of Jesus aka end of the world:
Keanu came as human body, he resurrected, he performed miracles, he made the civilization perished just like dust.........
"dust you are and to dust you shall return"- Genesis 3:19
Other similarities to Bible,
Spherical 'Arks' were sent to saviour the rest of the species - just like Noah's Ark.
There was even a species of his kind who was sent to earth beforehand to evaluate the human and made an official report to him upon his coming - just like John the Baptist who prepared the way for Jesus (however, John is definitely not the same kind as Jesus)
The moral of the story is,
Save the earth before you're destroyed - in Bible, Repent and you will be saved!

beware - One step towards assimilation.
I read a very disturbing news in here.
Someone is proposing to eliminate all the Chinese and Tamil schools for the sake of unity.
Under the new system,
“.........murid-murid diwajibkan belajar bahasa ibunda mereka iaitu Mandarin bagi kaum Cina dan Tamil bagi kaum India...........
Well, at least he shows mercy.
But, it's more disturbing when a 'tokoh pendidik' suggested not to show us mercy at all. The reason he gave was:
This Moronic 'tokoh' can't even know that kantonis and hokkien are just dialects instead of standard language - Mandarin.
It means they don't have to learn Bahasa Melayu as well, since they have kelantan dialect, jawa, minangkabau............right?
1st, our language... next our culture...then, our religion?

Outing before starting new Posting
The day before the start of new dreadful posting,
Four guys wished to treat themselves to great Japanese cuisine,
Driving all the way to Petaling Jaya Seksyen two,
Just to find out that the restaurant already 'tutup pindu'.
In the midst of disappointment and anger,
They were starving like a beggar,
No choice and ended up eating in a food stall,
The quality of the food was really Low.
Stuffed themselves with food,
Then in real good mood,
The night was still long,
Didn't wanna go home.
Four guys went to leisure mall,
Wanted to watch a movie show,
They were turned down again,
As the last show already began.
High spirit and never wanna give up to fate,
Heading to Times Square although it's late,
Finally, they watched 'The Coffin',
It's lousy and really boring.
That was the outing,
Before starting new posting,
It's late now and I'm sleepy,
Goodbye and stay happy.

I like Mandarin Road Signs
Hilarious, but that's not the point.
I wanna show the Mandarin road sign. The Mandarin road signs exist in Sibu since I was born( more than 2 decades ago), as well as in major cities like Kuching and Miri. Noone makes it an issue.
But recently, when Penang is trying to do the same thing, it is being criticized overwhelmingly. By who? whoelse but the infamous UMNO.
Yes, S'wak is left behind in term of development as compared to the peninsular, but it's lucky to has kept UMNO out of it.
“We don’t want them here because they tend not to share power and spoils,” said one official.
Couldn't agree more =)
Doesn't mean that I like white-hair-Taib, though.

Orthopaedics
My final week in Orthopaedics posting.
These are what I've done,
I attended 8am daily ward round for more than 36 times, skipped for less than 4 times.
I attended clinic for more than 15 times ( not including additional attendance to other teams' clinics), skipped 1.
I attended 5 seminars, missed 1.
I attended 1 lecture, 1 yet to be given by the lecturer, skipped 1.
I attended 2 workshops, another one not yet been given (but definitely, I'm gonna attend), missed 1.
Believe it or not, it's still my best record ever. = )

Registrar b: Not Too Sure
Prof: Nitrogen sulphide?

Datuk Khan....
I break my one-month-silence after knowing that KHAN was given Datukship. Who the hell is KHAN? oh yes, Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood star.
The logic of awarding him the title is "to promote Malacca and the actor had shot a movie scene here several years ago. This resulted in many people visiting Malacca." huh?
Some neck-dislocating head swing and butt-gyratory dance in the film can win him the title? The one who suggested the idea must be a diehard fan of him.
Why aren't they being awarded Datukship as well for promoting Pulau Redang? (Perhaps, because bodies not as good as Khan).

Immigrants and Squatters
'Chinese are pendatang.'
'Chinese are penumpang.'
These are the remarks made by an UMNO leader.
When he is asked to apologise, “I am not going to apologise as I do not owe any apology to anyone on this issue. I have done nothing wrong,” he said.
Furthermore,
He demanded that Chinese community leaders should apologise to him instead of asking him to express regret.
This is still not enough,
He said he wanted the reporter who reported his alleged remark in a Chinese newspaper to apologise to him, his family, friends, the Malay community and Muslims for “manipulating” his speech.
He even,
reminded Umno leaders not to be weak and get carried away by taking care of the feelings of others while being insensitive to the feelings of the Malays.
More disappointing,
Dr M has questioned why Malay leaders were apologising over a remark deemed as racist by an Umno leader.
Dr.M was comparing that racist leader's remarks with the remarks made by HINDRAF extremist and the Negarakuku WEE and claimed that,
'non-Malay leaders never apologised when similar racist remarks were made by members of their community.'
So, does he mean that,
A remark made by a kid is compatible with a remark made by a community leader? Afterall, WEE did make an apology, but that leader is trying to twist the fact and being arrogant. 'Berani cakap, tak berani mengaku.'
and..
A remark made by a non-political extremist HINDRAF is compatible with a remark made by an UMNO leader? So, is UMNO an extremist as well?

Money 'Still' Not Enough
Impulsively, I went to Leisure Mall for a movie with my friends, a break in the midst of our dreadful study week.
The movie was nice, funny at the beginning and touchy in the end.
It made most of us laugh to tears
and it made some of us cried with tears.
Particularly impressed by the Malaysian actress, Lee Min who plays the Alzheimer mother. She is exceptionally talented. Bravo~
Rating: 7.5/10

smart budget?
*Households which incur monthly electricity bills of RM20 or less, will not have to pay for electricity, for the period from 1 October 2008 to end of 2009.
Budget 2009 Malaysia 29/08/2008
It might sound nice, an energy conserving plan.
But, it is ridiculous.
I spend more than rm20 by just running a refrigerator. We don't switch off our fridge, do we?
So, I guess he is encouraging us to use candles.

Bravo!
"This is the people's victory," Anwar said in a victory speech.
"Permatang Pauh has given a clear signal to the leadership of this country. We demand change. We want freedom. We don't want to live with corruption and oppression.
"We want an independent judiciary, we want the economy to benefit the vast majority not the corrupt few," he added.
Well Said!
I hope he is not another NATO (No Action Talk Only).

HIghly efficient ACA - Bravo??
PUTRAJAYA: The five people including two Perak state executive councillors detained by the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) recently for alleged graft will be charged on Monday.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, responding to the arrests, said this was proof of the agency's increased efficiency due to improvements to its enforcement capacity.
NST 23/08/2008
Those two Perak exco are from Pakatan Rakyat(PR).
Just 5 months after PR takeover Perak, they are charged with corruption. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty. I'm not backing PR blindly, they should be persecuted once proven guilty.
However, Is it true that ACA is highly efficient now, as claimed by Badawi?
There are so many controversial and high-profile cases involving BN's politicians in here, why is it so remarkably efficient against PR only?
It is all about selective prosecution and double-standard. ACA, judiciary and police, all the so-called independent bodies are being maneuvered by the our ruling party.
As a Sarawakian, How I wish the ACA can get rid of the infamous 'white fur/white shark' in Sarawak!

Made in Malaysia, Sodo-mee. enak sekali~
"Saya Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan dengan nama Allah saya bersumpah saya telah diliwat oleh Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim pada 26 Jun 2008 dan pada hari tersebut Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim telah memasukkan zakarnya ke dalam dubur saya.
"Jika saya berdusta dengan perkara ini, saya berdusta dengan Allah SWT dan akan dilaknat oleh Allah SWT sehingga hari kiamat."
He swore on Quran.
I don't see any value in doing this. Swearing is definitely not a way to resolve legal matters, it is childish! Surprise to see that former PM agree in doing this. If it really works, all the criminals should convert to muslim and swear on Quran to free themselves.
Another thing,
Is it possible that a 61 years old elderly man manage to pull down the pants of a 23 years old tall and strong young man, aim his 'zakar' and penetrate into that tiny anus by force?
Logically, It is IMPOSSIBLE, unless the young man is willing to commit himself: tilt his buttock, stay still, and get ready to be inserted. So, since 'suka sama suka', why is he accusing that elderly man now?

Racist Teacher
The teacher at SMK Panglima Garang in Klang was alleged to have used racial slurs and verbally abused several students here last month.
In the incident last month, the teacher allegedly entered a Form Five class and called the students using a derogatory word. She also accused them of being gangsters and thieves.
New Straits Times 05/08/2008
Click for the news
I came across this news in NST. The news is actually written in a very 'well-mannered' way. They didn't elaborate more about the actual act of that teachers. So, out of curiosity, I started to google about it. I was thinking, most probably she only used some words or phrases like 'stupid', 'anjing(dog)' and 'semua kaum awak malas (lazy race) '.
But, to my surprise, it was far more extreme than that. I couldn't believe that it came from the mouth of a TEACHER.
She referred to her students of a particular race as:
"keling pariah"
"negro"
"black monkey"
"came from dogs"
"always menstruate"
"did not have testicles"
"children of prostitutes"
She even wrote some of those phrases on the blackboard, purposely beat them and punished them.
This problematic teacher had committed a disgraceful offence and she was merely being transfered to another school as her punishment. It's totally unfair and unacceptable.
It leaves me to think that one can make any racist remarks and remain unharmed as long as she belongs to the dominant race, the race that rules this country.
This is Malaysia, from my point of view.

Olympic 2008
I was excited about Olympic opening ceremony yesterday. I was the third to reach the TV room, there were already two excited looking seniors waiting for the show to begin. I got myself a front-seat.
The show began.
It was nice. It was good. It was superb! I was particularly amazed by the synchronization of the performers and of course, the fireworks..speechlessly superb.
Then, I waited patiently to see and show my support to my beloved Malaysian contingent. I was excited when I finally saw the Malaysian flag. Proud of that!
But, I was surprised when I saw their costumes: Malay costume and songkok. The contingent consists of 33 athletes in which the majorities are non-malay, and of course, non-muslim as well. Besides, Malay cannot solely represent the image of Malaysia, it's multi-racial. I don't understand the need to wear songkok among non-muslims, it's an insult. If there is a real need to glorify Malay ethnic, they can be asked to wear tanjak/tengkolok (the one you see in malaysian ringgit), why songkok? Thankfully, the female athletes were not required to wear headscarf(tudung).
As a multi-racial country, the most suitable outfit is definitely suit and trousers. Batik is another good choice. For the muslims, they can add-on by wearing songkok.
Anyway, I still fully support Malaysian athletes. Hope they manage to grab a few gold medals and make us proud. Heard that each gold medalist is gonna be rewarded with Rm1 million, is it true?

Okay, the questions are:
a)What is the provisional diagnosis?
b)What is/are the differential diagnosis?
c)What investigation do you need to do to rule out (tro) assault or sodomise?
d)What is the medico-legal issue associated with this case and how do you, as a doctor, deal with it?

About me - Difficulty in remembering names
I was asked to write something about myself, so, here is a little bit about me..........
***
Today, on the way back from clinic, I bumped into a course mate, a young lady. I greeted her with a smile which, I guess, was hardly to be seen by her bare eyes. As usual, I didn't have the intention to stop and speak to her. Upon walking pass her, she called my name.
Okay, I had to talk to her since she called me. I'm not without manner.
We had a short conversation.
Then, I was thinking, 'What's her name?' Poor thing, she didn't realized that she was talking to someone who didn't even know her name.
Well, I do have difficulty in remembering names. However, I don't view it as a problem. It's an absolute truth that you are able to impress people by addressing them by their names. It's like honey flowing through your ears when someone calls you by name. I agree. It's a skill.
But it's a neglected skill, at least, for me.
I manage to bust my ass into 4th year in medical school by memorizing tons of fact, surely, memory is not the issue. Instead, I neglect the skill. I don't show commitment in remembering the names and it is very much due to my lack of application.
I don't see the need for me to adapt the skill as I'm not a sociable person. I only wish to remember the names of those who are related to me: my friends, group members, house mates......and someone I don't like (for me to curse). Sooner or later, I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna forget most of the names, as most of them are just gonna be passers-by in my life.
***
A little bit about me, that's me.

I only wish to remember the names of those who are related to me: my friends, group members, house mates......and someone I don't like (for me to curse). Sooner or later, I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna forget most of the names, as most of them are just gonna be passers-by in my life.

I like this movie
Everyone is talking about batman after the releasing of 'The Dark Knight'. Never really like batman until I caught the show yesterday evening.
It was GOOD!
It gave me the 'orgasmic' feeling right from beginning until I forgot my urge to micturate. I was holding my pee unconsciously for more than one hour. I would say it's the best Batman movie ever... much better than the Clooney version.
Heath Ledger needs to be mentioned. I came to know him from the movie '10 things I hate about you' and I particularly remember that he told Julia Stiles:
" You complete me."
Ironically, for his very last movie, he told Batman the same thing:
By the way, I think Bruce Wayne gets a really horrible sore throat everytime he turns into batman as he needs to speak in that raspy growl. =D
Rating: 9/10

Great savings plan !
When everyone is struggling to save their extra bit of money....
When Pak Lah said "Ubah Gaya Hidup!" (change the lifestyle) .....
Terengganu state government came out with a super smart savings plan:
By changing their 4 years old Proton Perdana V6 to Mercedes E200 Kompressor for the use of its state executive councillors and senior officials with the price of RM3.43mil for 14 cars.
The reasonS given by their Menteri Besar:
"In the long run, Mercedes cars are cheaper (than Malaysian national cars, Proton Perdana) to maintain and could also save us fuel costs."
"The state government had to spent Rm175,229.97 for the maintenance cost of ONE Proton Perdana and RM132,375.76 for another from 2004 to July 2008 due to frequent break down."
(for your information, a brand new perdana costs ONLY RM101,500)
Kick Ass! What a Genius savings plan by Terengganu! Forget about the fuel hike, forget about Proton/Perodua, let's drive Mercedes to SAVE!
Undilah BN.

Why do you want to become a doctor?
"Why do you want to be a doctor?"
This is the most frequently asked question when we were the junior medical students.
"I want to help others."
This is the most common answer given by us. Gold standard answer.
But most of the time, most of us are bullshitting.
"I want to help the poor, they deserve better treatment."
Sounds familiar? It is a standard answer from medical students. A good way to help the poor is to remain in the government service as they simply cannot afford to go to the money-sucking private hospitals. Unfortunately, when they are asked about the reason to reject JPA scholarship......
" Ishhh (walaoeh), need to bond to the government for 10 years, so long, dont want lah. Wanna be free."
or, when they are asked whether to remain in the government service......
"Government? Cannot stand the workload lah, so many on-calls some more, I want to sleep lah, wanna cabut to private after the compulsory service."
or, when ask to go to the ulu-ulu(rural) area to help the poor.............
"Ha?? NO cinema, NO McD, NO Shopping malls, NO entertainment, can bored to death, u know....dont want lah!"
Another standard answer given by medical student is:
"My family member had cancer and I couldn't do anything at that time, so, I want to be a doctor so that I can prevent this. "
Does this sound familiar to you? If that is your answer and yet you are so obsessed with clinical practice and show very little interest towards medical research, you are going to the wrong direction. When facing some terminal or serious diseases, it depends on the researchers who work behind the scene to develop the new treatments. Doctors? They only prolong the patient's life, and the result is still the same, death.
Another answer:
"It's my ambition since I was a kid."
Come on, how on earth can you decide that when you are still very much dependent on your parents for most of the decision. Obviously, you get the idea from the sample essay in which you need to memorize when you were in primary school. "Apakah cita-cita kamu?" "Cita-cita saya adalah menjadi seorang doktor yang berjaya." Get it?
Another answer....
"Parents force me to study medicine."
Your parents might force you, yet, you still come to the medical school with happy face and very motivated, kiasu some more. Yea, when there is no good answer, just blame the parents lah, very easy answer.
..................................................................................................................................................................
Okay, why is it so hard to tell the truth?
" I want to be rich!"
" I want the title, DR. , glamour lah!"
"Doctor has higher status, people respect me!"
"Doctor syok, easy to tackle pretty chicks!"
Some doctors told us that becoming a doctor is not the way to be rich. After office hour, they were spotted sitting comfortably in BMW, Mercedes... (--III)
Yea, of course not rich lah, they are comparing themselves to Robert Kuok.
Some of you might say, "I can still help others by working in private hospital ma." Yea right, they pay a huge amount for your service, basically, you are just selling your skill to them. They pay for what they deserve but not at the mercy of your kindness. Some more, they can sue you if you don't give a good service. Have you ever heard that a kind Samaritan get sued because he/she is not giving a 'good enough' help?
"I sincerely want to help you, yet you sue me because my help is lousy? walaoeh!"
I don't doubt that, indeed, there are some students who really have the heart to help others and also to improve the medical services in our country, good for them and I salute them. But, how many of us are actually one of them? Are you?
Well, after almost 4 years in medical school, try to ask yourself the same old question again,
"Why do you want to become a doctor?"

3D movie
Haven't hang out for quite some time, so, impulsively, I invited my housemates to go for a movie in Mid Valley. We decided to try out the 3D movie - Journey to the centre of the earth, hoping to get some visual satisfaction and it costed us rm17 each. Not so cheap............
Not so cheap ticket, rm9.6 for ticket, rm2.4 for entertainment tax and the rm5 surcharge?
What is the surcharge?rental for the freaky glasses? Air-corn? cushioned seat? toilet?
Wasn't expecting much initially. But then, the movie impressed me as soon as it began (in term of the visual effect). We really did get the visual satisfaction and two thumbs up for it. Unfortunately, in term of the storyline, it was just s0-so: a scientist, his nephew and his guide accidentally fell into the centre of the earth and finally they found the way out and brought themselves back to the surface of the earth, THE END. Super simple.
Rating : 8/10 , oklah, thanks to the 3D effect.

Each of us was given a freaky pair of 'red and green' glasses at the entrance and the narcissistic photo-shooting began instantly.

Instant doctor
There are a lot of human beings in my hospital who like to hang their stethoscope around their neck, office hour...lunch break...after office hour, the stethoscopes are always in the right position. They do carry bags, some of them do wear white coats with big pockets....but why do they want to position their tools around their neck?
The answer is easy. What comes into your mind when a human being hang a stethoscope around his/her neck?
DOCTOR!
Yes, the formula is easy: HUman being + stethoscope (+/- white coat) = Doctor
They want to tell others that, " HEy! ! All of YOU! Look at me! I'm a doctor! I'm Syok! "
So, why do you need to waste your 5 precious years in a medical school?
Try out this "Instant Doctor" !!!
Human + stethoscope (+/- white coat) = Doctor
YOU CAN BE A DOCTOR IN JUST 3 MINUTES!
